Common Questions
We’re so glad you’ll be joining us for Easter this year! When you arrive, our parking team will help you find a space. We’ve planned a great experience, and hope you make yourself at home when you enter the lobby with a fresh cup of coffee or tea. The gathering will last 90 minutes and include a time for worship and an inspiring Easter message. If you would like to receive prayer, see our prayer team after the gathering.
Honestly—come as you are. Freedom Church is a place where you don’t have to dress a certain way to belong. That said, many people enjoy dressing up a little for our Easter gatherings, so feel free to join in if you’d like.
For our Good Friday gatherings, Freedom Kids Nursery and Pre-K will be open but our Elementary environment wil be closed. We encourage you to bring your Kindergarten to 5th grders into the auditorium with you! For Easter Sunday gatherings, all Freedom Kids environments will be open!
There will be no Freedom Youth on Easter Sunday but we encourage your Middle and High school students to join us on April 11th at 5pm for Invite Night!
If this will be your child’s first visit to Freedom Kids, please register at the check-in station in the lobby!
Yes. Good Friday with Freedom is a unique experience as we reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and look forward to Easter. We will also receive communion together.
For your preferred seats, time to check in your kids and to grab some coffee, we recommend arriving 20 minutes early. The main doors to our auditorium will open 15 minutes prior to the start of each gathering.
Yes. Our online campus will stream Good Friday at 8PM and Easter Sunday at 10AM and 12PM. Watch here.
Yes, parking is available at Hudson County Bergen Square - 830 Bergen Ave. & Vroom St.
Directions: From McGinley Square or Journal Square, turn on Vroom St. from Bergen Ave. Parking is available in three county lots on the left side of Vroom St.
Yes! Once “open” projects are posted on our website, anyone can sign up for a project.
We would love that! If you do decide to meet as a Summer Community Group we have great curriculum you can use. If you decide not to meet regularly, you’ll just want to make sure you stay in contact with your group to stay organized leading up to Serve Week.
Hopefully, you have selected something to do together, but if you are in need of an idea, you can check out our list of ideas in this guide for ways to get involved. If you’re still in need of a project, feel free to contact us and we can help direct your group.
Yes, we would like to know about your group project. Register your Serve Week Group at HERE for the SUMMER 2026 semester.
Get creative! Assess people and their needs in your neighborhood and around your community. Perhaps there is a widow, a single mother, or an elderly person who could be assisted by painting their house, cutting their grass, or cleaning up their yard. Firefighters, police officers, school resource officers, nursing home residents, assisted living homes, and local business owners are all great people to ask about ways to serve! Check out our list of ideas and other options from local service organizations for ways to get involved.
Each Serve Week group is responsible for all of the supplies and costs associated with their Serve Week project. Spend time determining the scope of your project, and plan your project based on your group size and commitment level. In most cases, your materials (lumber, mulch,
paint, etc.) could be paid for by the person / organization you’re serving, and then your group offers the labor for free. If you have a project in which you feel you may need financial assistance from the church, please contact us ASAP.
Serve Week Groups will be posted on myfreedomjc.org/groups when the Summer Groups catalogue goes live. Your current group members, as well as new members, will be able to see all of the open groups and select one they would like to join. EVERY person joining a group/helping with a Serve Week project is encouraged to sign up, including children and spouses.
Serve Week Projects can be on any day, June 6-13! We expanded this outreach to a full week to create more options for serving our communities.
Plan on bringing any personal items that you may need, like your Serve Week T-shirt (if provided ahead of time), sunscreen, drinking water, packed lunch, tennis shoes/boots, and hat, along with any items pertaining to your service project such as rakes, gloves, lawnmowers, tarps, or other work tools. For projects requiring physical labor, work clothes are a good idea. We recommend not wearing jewelry.
If you have an outside project, make plans to have an inclement weather option in mind. If it’s lightly raining, and your project can be accomplished safely, feel free to serve. In some cases you may need to cancel your project. Just be sure to communicate any changes clearly to your Point of Contact and to your volunteers.
Yes! We highly encourage families to serve together. Since each project will be different, our list of projects on our website will indicate which projects are kid friendly (ages 5 and up). Children MUST serve with their parents for the duration of Serve Week.
Generally, all projects will start at 8AM and finish by 5PM. Project Managers will be able to select custom project times if needed when they register their project.
